Description
Hamburg & Beans goes by many different names like Campfire Hamburger and Beans,
Cowboy Beans, Hamburger Bean Casserole and there are as many variations of this recipe as
there are names. This is the way my Mom made it and it is still one of my favorite comfort
foods. Add a salad and some cornbread and it makes a great one-pot meal that feeds an
army.
Ingredients
2 lbs. Ground Beef
28 oz canned Baked Beans
2 tablespoons Oil
1 large Onion (Diced)
4 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
½ cup Ketchup
¼ cup Yellow Mustard
2 tablespoons Ground Garlic
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Pepper
Instructions
In a large Dutch oven sauté onion in the oil until just translucent. Add ground beef, salt &
pepper and over medium heat brown well. Turn heat to low and add bean, Worcestershire,
ketchup, mustard and ground garlic mix well. Cover Dutch oven and place in a preheated
350-degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until heated through.
